Initially recruited by agent Percival, Charlyn goes by the codename “Lancelot” as a Kingsman agent.
Kingsman agent Percival, heavily injured, had been trying to escape from his enemies when he crossed paths with Charlyn. He had stumbled into a music instrument shop and came face-to-face with the then 8 year old. Surveying his injuries and distress, she had led him to a secret room within her family’s shop. Giving the doe-eyed look, she then misled the searching enemies in a different direction. Percival surveyed the then 8 year old child. Her small fragile doll-like figure… and then he noticed those soft brown eyes which shone like the stars but had the depths of the ocean. Throughout his recovery, Percival lived with Charlyn’s family. Every night after dinner, he would sit by the fireplace and tell the starry-eyed child stories about his adventures. When Percival was almost fully recovered, he thanked the family and reluctantly bid them goodbye as he returned to his organisation. However, that night, the enemies who were after Percival came back to the music shop as they had realised that they were fooled by the little girl. When the enemies could not find a single trace of Percival, they set fire to the music shop and took everyone hostage. After which, they started killing their hostages one by one, starting from Charlyn’s parents.
LANCELOT
Percival, who had been keeping a distant watch on the family, finally managed to arrive on the scene. Fending off his enemies and navigating the burning house had delayed him more than he expected. As he scoured around the shophouse which was burning inferno, he spotted Charlyn’s parents’ lifeless bodies sprawled across the floor. Upon the sight of them, he was filled with regret at his inability to rescue his saviors as they had done for him before. He was then filled with the resolve to save young Charlyn at all cost less he bear the price of his failure forever. He managed to find the young child hidden back at the secret room. Holding her in his arms, he leapt out of a nearby window and they headed for the safety of the trees at the edge of the town. As the two figures ran off under the starless night, they stopped at the edge of the forest as the young girl took one last look at the burning wreck that was her home. Tightly clasped in her hand was her favourite violin, a birthday present her parents had given to her on her 6th birthday, her music and all the heartfelt and joyful moments that she had experienced in her music shop.
Understanding that the girl had nowhere else to go, and realising that his enemies would now be after her as well, Percival decided to take the young charlyn back to his hideout with him. He felt that this was both his responsibility as well as his way of returning the favor to Charlyn and her family for the kindness that they showed him.For the next decade, Charlyn lived under the alias Ipzzie and travelled to many different countries along with Percival as he took on different tasks from the Kingsman. In the day, Ipzzie was a travelling busker who played the violin while she received Wing Chun lessons in the night. Whenever Percival had free time between missions, he would give her more intense personal training, imparting the various skills and knowledge that he deemed necessary for her survival in the event that his enemies returned. As he watched over the young Ipzzie, he could sense a potential in her to become the next Kingsmen.
When Ipzzie was 18, Percival recruited her into the KIngsman agent training where she went through the same training as the other recruits.On top of being one of the two female candidates who were recruited to train to become a Kingsman agent, Ipzzie also happened to be the youngest agent. However despite her gender and age, Ipzzie is seen to excel in most of the tests over the months of training and won herself the title of “Lancelot” at the end of the training period. Traumatised by the death of her only fellow female Kingman agent trainee due to lack of teamwork during one of the training exercises, Ipzzie believes very strongly in having teamwork and the value of friendship. Known to have an outgoing and cheerful deposition, Ipzzie is one of the first trainee to approach the other trainees to get to know them, despite their individual background. She also has a high sense of loyalty and takes care of her fellow agents really well, caring for their welfare
